I am a trained and qualified Practitioner Psychologist, and hold the title of a Psychologist. Being a qualified Psychologist I am entitled to provide Counselling and Psychotherapy, but with certain restrictions towards assessing & treating clients with Mental/Physical Disabilities. Additionally, apart from being a Practitioner Psychologist, I am also a proud member of American Psychological Association (APA), and British Psychological Society (BPS). I have a total of 10+ Years work experience in the area of Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, 15 years as a Counsellor, and have successfully or partially treated more than 1100 clients till date. I have have given psychotherapy to clients through various means, such as in person at my private practice, via video, telephone, and e-mail. I also supervise/train Psychologists in the field of Psychotherapy. I’m well versed with multi-cultural Counselling, and have treated clients from various backgrounds.
Approach Towards Psychotherapy/Counselling
I have an Integrative stance towards Psychotherapy. What that means is that I might be using various perspectives in my approach to treatment during various phases of Psychotherapy as per a given situation and needs of the client, such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (focuses on past and childhood issues), Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (focuses on present issues), Existential Psychotherapy (focuses on past issues and future), Client- Centered Psychotherapy (focuses only on issues which the client wants to discuss), Family Systems and Couples Psychotherapy (focuses on family issues and relationship issues), Positive Psychological Psychotherapy (focuses on improving strengths of client), Transpersonal Psychotherapy (focuses on spiritual/religious issues, dilemmas, and paradoxes) etc., etc. Also, I might simultaneously at a time deal with the clients past issues since childhood, as well as the present issues which are of major concern to the client. All Counselling and Psychotherapy services provided, all of which are within the purview of Mental Health strictly adhere to high quality of evidence-based practices as outlined by the Profession, its Professional Standards, Frameworks, Scopes of Practice, Competencies, Ethics, and Guidelines respectively. I have a very systematic, thorough, detailed, and time- consuming approach to rendering Counselling and Psychotherapy services, and take more than the usual amount of time and effort when addressing concerns of the client, and give enough time needed to any and all necessary concerns.
